And in that experience, we finally understood the weight of Christ’s words:

“You will be hated.”

Not because we were wrong. Not because we were dangerous. Not because we were unfaithful.

But because sometimes clarity is uncomfortable. Sometimes growth is misunderstood. Sometimes love does not fit the politics of a room. Sometimes people fear what they cannot control.

We did not respond with anger. We did not retaliate. We did not speak against those who spoke against us.
